Public Shooting Range Rules

  1. All firearms must be carried concealed or cased while going to or from the range.  NEVER handle uncased or unholstered firearms behind the firing line.

  2. Always keep firearms pointed down range and in a safe direction.  NEVER turn around in the booth while holding a firearm.  Never point the firearm muzzle, toward yourself, another person, the ceiling, range or shooting booth walls.  Never for ANY REASON leave your booth with an uncased or unholstered firearm!

  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

  4. Never cross the firing line for any reason.  Do not attempt to retrieve anything that falls in front of the firing line.  If you lose a piece of equipment, ask the RSO for assistance.

  5. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a signed waiver on file.

  6. If you observe any unsafe behavior or condition by anyone, report it to a Range Safety Officer immediately.

  7. No drawing from the holster.

  8. Fully automatic weapons and bump stocks are not allowed.

  9. Always keep the action open and firearm unloaded until ready to fire.  Consider every firearm as “loaded” and treat it as such.

  10. Eye and ear protection MUST be put on before entering the range and worn at all times while inside.

  11. Upon the command “CEASE FIRE”, stop all shooting immediately, put down your firearm and back away from the firing line.  Do NOT reapproach the firing line or pick up your firearm until the “All Clear” signal is given.

  12. For any firearm or ammunition problem, such as a squib or hang fire, keep the gun pointed downrange, do not set the gun down, remain in your booth and signal a Range Safety Officer for assistance by raising your non-shooting hand.

  13. Use only the correct ammunition for your firearm.  The BCOAC does not permit TRACER,  INCENDIARY, MUZZLELOADERS or BLACK POWDER loads. Shotguns are slug only.

  14. If you brought more than one firearm, you must use only one firearm at a time.

  15. Know and understand the operating mechanism and safety features of your firearm.

  16. Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting.

  17. No food, drink, gum or tobacco is permitted inside the range.  Wash your hands each time you leave the range and before smoking, eating or drinking.

  18. Act responsibly at all times.  Foul language, horseplay or any other unsafe activity will not be tolerated.  If we observe an unsafe act we will help you understand what you did and work with you to learn the correct safety procedures.  If you repeat or commit another unsafe act, you may be asked to leave the range and meet with the Chief RSO.  If you appear to be impaired, such as under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription medication, you will be evaluated by the RSO and you may be asked to leave the range.  The safety of everyone is a primary goal at the BCOAC.  We want you to enjoy shooting and will work with anyone who wants the same.

Gun Rentals

$15 Gun Rentals

We offer a diverse selection of firearms at the BCOAC. Our rental selection of handguns and rifles is the largest in the area. If you feel like shooting a different type or make of firearm, or just want to test fire before a purchase, our gun range is the place to go.

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who isn't quite sure which firearm is right for them. Buying the perfect firearm for defense or for sport can be a tough decision. Instead of taking someone else's advice on what would be best for you, why not test out certain firearms to know for sure? With our firearms rental selection, we can guide you in the right direction.

Don't see what you are looking for? Let us know, we are always looking to expand our rentals!

*Rentals do require the purchase of ammo on-site at the BCOAC, there is no exception to this rule. You must be at least 18 to rent any of our firearms.
